The Cleaving Block is used as part of the post-synthesis process. It allows the operator to cleave the oligos from the support on the synthesis or column plate and collect them in the receiving plate which is loaded in the block.

Although these items were originally designed as an integrated part of the MerMade post synthesis process these Blocks can be used with any synthesizer as part of the deprotection process. In fact, their robustness and flexibility have proved sufficiently popular that they are now available as a separate option.

Once the oligos have been cleaved and collected in the Collection plate, this may be transferred to the 96 Well Deprotection Chuck for the deprotection phase of the process.
